Settings...and Stuff

I never read instructions! I wish I was more patient and took the time to read them. It used to take me about 20 mins per picture to upload, but now thanks to a tip from Linds B, I changed my settings on my camera to reduce the size of the images. Voila, I can actually update my blog with pictures! Thanks, Linds!

We spent Memorial Day at the beach with my family. We got to spend some time with our new nephew Mac, we celebrated Charlie's brithday AGAIN, celebrated my birthday, spent time by the water, and Poppy caught the kids a toad. The beach club has a great Memorial Day party that was loads of fun for the kids. You'd think these kids grew up years ago if you saw the way they danced to some good ole beach music.

I don't really know anyone well who is serving in our armed forces, but I am very grateful for all those who are fighting for our freedoms. I can only imagine how hard it would be to have a loved one putting their lives on the line daily, Thank you!

Lovin' my 2-yr old man...

Charlie turned two on May 19th and the day was full and exciting from start to finish. We started at Mimi and G-daddy's house with a birthday breakfast. I think we sang "happy birthday" 5 times before he even ate his bagel and oatmeal (complete with a birthday candle thanks to Mimi). Charlie and I headed over to Duke for his appointment and even this is a treat for him (Charlie loves Dr. B). Once we made it back to Charlotte, we had a family celebration and Charlie played with his favorite birthday gift, matchbox cars! What a cheap year for gifts....these things are $.97, just Five of these made his day!

Happy Birthday my sweet boy, loved singing to you today (all 50 times). You make me proud!

Before He Turns 2...

Just wanted to show off my little man and his newest talents. This video is pretty typical of him lately, he is VERY full of himself! He turns 2 on May 19, so I will have some pics next week of the many celebrations!

Fiona the Flowergirl

Kristy, our old nanny, got married in March and Haley got to be a flowergirl. Haley did great walking down the aisle, she intentionally placed each petal and took her role very seriously. The reception was at Graylyn in Winston Salem and it was breathtaking. I loved the details that Kristy and Russ picked out...you can check out the photographer's blog to see what I mean. Yeah, right

Did I say "stay tuned for pics next week" last time? Was that a month ago? Am I the slackest blogger ever? Ok, so I am going to try to start posting more regularly...maybe not always pics, but at least a note of the funnies that put stitches in my side on a regular basis!

Back track...Haley's birthday...4 years old, 3 adults, 16 little girls, rain...disaster! I vow to never have a party this big again. It is just too much for me (and Haley) to handle. All these little munchkins took over my house and there were many episodes of crying and battles over who was to be first, win, or whatever 4 year olds can whine about! Actually, it was not all that bad...but Scott and I were utterly exhausted when it was over. For the record, I LOVE the idea of age equals number of guests and we will be enforcing that next year for sure!
