January Snow

We got out token snow "storm" on January 19th. It was a whopping 2 inches, pure bliss for the children. They couldn't even stand the excitement...so much so that these pictures were taken at 8:45 am! What??? We played for what felt like hours and were back inside to warm up by 10:30.

Our neighbors, the Davis', have a great hill for sledding so we all hung out by their outdoor fireplace and watched the kids sled over and over and over again.

Later that day I watched the presidential inauguration. I won't comment on that since I'm not ready to talk politics yet on this blog...thanks, though.

Christmas Catch-up

This year we spent Christmas Eve and Christmas morning here in Charlotte. The kids spent Christmas Eve at BeBe and Poppy's house and then went home to get ready for the Big Guy to come visit.




Charlie's favorite toys...oh wait, that is all he got!



Haley got some doctor scrubs and a doctor kit. She actually wears this to Duke on our allergy visits for Charlie...it is a riot.



Then we headed to Raleigh on Christmas Day for even more excitement. Heather's parents joined us and I got a great picture of Ross and Bob at the end of the night. I love how Scott just appeared coming down the steps at the perfect time.

Weekday School

All I can say is, Thank the Lord for weekday school (WDS). My kids have had a great experience and I have always loved their teachers. Equally important, I love this time to myself each week. On the last week before the holidays, I had lunch with Haley and stopped in Charlie's class for his Christmas party. As you can see, they love their school buds.





Haley having lunch with Regan who has a severe dairy allergy. Regan has a special table and we can send in a "Regan-safe" lunch so she has a buddy to sit with. Haley gets so excited when she gets to sit with her!

Charlie's New Do!

I know this is B-O-R-I-N-G but this is my version of a scrapbook, so I have to post Chuck's first haircut! We went to supercuts for the big splurge and he did not seem to be bothered by the snips, snip, snip of the little baby hairs (maybe the lollipop had something to do with this).

Not quite "The Nutcracker"

Haley has been taking ballet at the YMCA on Tuesdays this past fall and she absolutely loved it. To be honest, she needs a little ballet in her life, because this girl really does not have a graceful movement in her. She is pretty rough and tough, so this is a nice change of pace. At the end of the semester, she had her recital at The Children's Theater. It was a BIG stage for this little girl, but she did a great job. She was not the least bit nervous performing and she loved the fame!
