Charlie's First Day of School 2010

My little buddy started school this year in the 3's class and walked right in as if he owned the place. I was worried since he has always had big sis by his side, but he knew the drill and was excited to be there and meet new friends. Oh, and momma is happy to have some "me" time. Thank goodness for 3 hours of time to myself a couple mornings each week...summer about wore me out! I mean, how many more times could I apply sunscreen?

Here's to another great year!

This little man plays hard and rests hard...he fell asleep after school on my tile kitchen floor. Yes, this is for real...

Dear Canon,

Dear Canon Camera,

Thanks for not working today. You distracted me from being too sad about sending my baby off to her first day of school. She did great though, unlike you, she was fine with her adjustments and she fulfilled her task. Thankfully we have many good examples around us, like Blackberrys, that teach us how to work properly!

Love,
Mary

Haley was so excited this morning to go to school. When we talked last night about the new chapter ahead, she said she was a little nervous and a lot excited! As a mother, of course I am a lot more nervous than excited. Everytime fear steps into my head, I have to remind myself that God loves Haley even more than I do. He has a perfect plan for her and instead of worrying, I believe He wants me to praise Him that Haley is able to go to Kindergarten today. She is physically, emotionally and developmentally READY.

Another funny thing I don't want to forget is her response to my question "what are you going to ask your teacher on the first day?". She said, "I'm gonna ask her when we get to do homework and ask her if she is a Christian". Oh my, we already are going to have to have a talk.

First Ski Trip

We took Haley skiing over MLK and she had a blast! She did ski wees ski-school and then enjoyed some time skiing with Daddy. Charlie and I just played in the snow and watched some of the action from the lodge. Check out our little ski bunny (#210):

First Day of School

Summer is over and school has started. As much as I love a routine, I am bummed to see the lazy days of summer behind us. Don't get me wrong, I love some time to myself, but the beginning of school actually stresses me out. I feel like I have so much to remember...bring in supplies, pictures, fill out forms, volunteer for carpool, chapel, treats for teachers, sign up for holiday parties, make play doh...the list goes on and on! It is all worth it in the end though. I see how much they have learned and look forward to all they will learn this year.

Compare how much they have grown by looking at last year. Wow!

Look who's 60!

Libby!!! We threw a surprise 60th birthday party for my mom last weekend and it was, in fact, a Big surprise! She had no idea that when she walked into my den carrying a big jar of sun-dried tomatos, she was walking into a room filled with many of her close friends and family! It was a fun night and a great way to celebrate my mom!

Charlie's New Do!

I know this is B-O-R-I-N-G but this is my version of a scrapbook, so I have to post Chuck's first haircut! We went to supercuts for the big splurge and he did not seem to be bothered by the snips, snip, snip of the little baby hairs (maybe the lollipop had something to do with this).

First Day of School

I feel like I blinked and now Charlie is going to preschool...

Haley was so proud to show Charlie the ropes and they both entered their classrooms without a tear! What a great day!!!

God is so good to have blessed me with these precious children...

The sun has been getting to me

I am soooo far behind on posting photos...the hot summer days are so draining that I am too tired to update our blog! Funny, because I still have time to check everyone else's website, ha ha!

Ok, so if we back up to the first of July, that is when Charlie really began walking. Here is a video that shows how proud he was when he finally figured it out! OMGness, is there anything cuter than a baby learning to walk?

First Steps...

Charlie is trying to walk more and more...he has lots of battle wounds to prove it too! Here a little snipit of him giving it a try!

Elmopalooza!

Charlie loves Elmo! Here is a video of him pushing Haley's Elmo car, he is so proud of himself! He is 9 months old and already starting to walk behind a walker. Time is flying by too fast for me with Charlie, I guess because I know he is probably the last of babies in this family.

Haley was so sweet last night. She woke up at 12:00 am just wanting her mommy. Now, I usually do not like to be woken up in the middle of the night, but all she wanted was to hug on me! Then, sometime later that night, I woke up as I rolled over and bumped heads with her! She had crawled into our bed without me even knowing it and she slept there the rest of the night. She woke up at 6:30 and I wanted more sleep so I told her she could go play quietly in her room. She did, and proceeded to get completely dressed for the day. She had on the most adorable outfit right down to her socks and shoes! Wow, how independent she is becoming! I guess that is why I savor the moments that she just wants her mommy, even in the middle of the night!

Just in case I don't already say it enough, I love both of you little gooses...
