The 80's Rocked

Along with many friends (I won't name names), we are STILL recovering from an awesome 80's party this past weekend. I am literally sore from all the dancing and my stomach hurts after looking at all the pictures! The attendance list was strong...Hulk Hogan, Agassi, Mary Lou Retton, Prince, Jimmy Connors, and of course, Magnum P.I.! Cheers to the 80's!

A day in the life of a 4 year old...

A couple months ago Haley asked me to get off the phone for something very important. When I asked her what it was, she said that she needed me to come to her room because Nemo is getting baptized. There are many times where I have to decide which beckons to attend to, this one was a no-brainer...

Scott took Charlie to Raleigh in May for a few days and I got to spend some good one on one time with Haley. She wanted to create something out of a shoebox that I was throwing away, so we decided to make a castle. This is what we created...

I am thankful for Amy Letts!

Haley came home with a list of things she is thankful for in honor of the upcoming holiday. She was thankful for the following:

1. B (her blanket)
2. 1 and 2 (the numbers???)
3. curious george
4. her class
5. lily (our neighbor)
6. Amy Letts

So, my first response was...where the heck are mommy and daddy on the list? Thanks, Haley...love you too! Then, I was so curious about Amy Letts...who is she and why does my daughter love her so? Well, after saying it a couple times, I realized the teacher did not understand her! She was trying to say Ambulance! Ha, that girl cracks me up! For those of you who don't know, her favorite imagination right now is playing "hospital". She is getting a doctor kit for Christmas, so we are just feeding the fire! My dad also recently took her to Presbyterian hospital to watch the ambulances come in...kinda gloomy, huh? She loved it, but I will opt to focus on the imagination right here in our den!

Anyone else in love with Carrie Underwood?

Today was the last day of my niece, Riley's visit. On the way to take Haley to school this morning, we got in the car and Riley asked if we could listen to the "yeh, yeh, ye-ah" song. You see, after being with us this week, she got to liking Miss Carrie Underwood, which happens to be Haley's favorite artist right now (and thank the Lord because I am so over all the kid music)! Anyway, I immediately knew what she was talking about and turned it to track 2...not sure of the title, but it is the "beautiful, wonderful, perfect, all-american girl" song. The funniest thing to me was that as we drove down Providence Rd., all the kids (Charlie included) were singing along at the top of their lungs to our favorite American Idol. Woo-hoo...

What Grows in a Garden?

Went on a run recently...which is really difficult nowadays since I have to push 55 lbs and have a 3 year old that wants to talk the entire time! She asks me what street we are on and then how to spell it while I pant and almost keel over from trying to keep up my pace. Today our conversation turned to the garden...what?

Haley: "Mom, I like that garden"

Me: "yeah...its nice" (... = panting)

Haley: "We should get a garden"

Me: "We kinda....have one...it...just has different...plants"

Haley: "Maybe we can plant new ones"

Me: "Ok...like what"

Haley: "Maybe some things like marshmallows"

Busted!

A couple of days ago, I decided that I would check out this shoe sale because I was feeling particularly sick of my shoes! Anyway, after finding the perfect pair, I then found an even more perfect pair...but not in my size. The salesman kindly checked other stores and found my size! Yay, they are shipping it to my house this week!

Fast forward...to this morning. I am wearing the new pair (pair #1) and I asked Scott what he thought about them. He kinda gave me a hard time for buying new shoes b/c we (meaning "me") have been spending more than we should lately. Anyway, he said I could keep them because he liked them but to keep out of the stores for a while...

Haley then spoke up and asked why I was not wearing the yellow shoes (pair #2)? Scott gave me a disappointed look because he already knew what was going on...
