The 80's Rocked

Along with many friends (I won't name names), we are STILL recovering from an awesome 80's party this past weekend. I am literally sore from all the dancing and my stomach hurts after looking at all the pictures! The attendance list was strong...Hulk Hogan, Agassi, Mary Lou Retton, Prince, Jimmy Connors, and of course, Magnum P.I.! Cheers to the 80's!

Good luck charms

A long day, but well worth it to see a big WIN for Carolina!

Halloween costumes

Unfortunately I failed to get many pics on Halloween, but here are the kid's costumes. Charlie's G.I. Joe outfit failed last minute when he tantrummed us into a Clemson uniform...I would talk some smack about Clemson if it weren't for the fact that I was actually so grateful to have this "on loan" from Kelly and Michael. It was the only thing that made Charlie happy after waking up cranky from a nap so we complied. Go tigers!

Backfire

Charlie has switched to his new big boy room and the transition had been going pretty well. This past week though, he wakes up really early, like 5 am, and comes into our bed to bother us for the rest of our precious sleep. Then, if we give him no attention, he goes into Haley's room to bother her. So today I went to get a door lock so he can't get out of his room. I let him fuss a while this afternoon during naptime only to check on this:

Imagine diaper cream coating everything...greasy, hard to clean up, stinky, painful waste of the hour of rest time I was looking forward to gettting this afternoon. Psyche.

Disney on Ice

Let's just say Disney on Ice is ALL it is cracked up to be. Haley and her cousin Caroline had the time of their lives at the show. I even got a little teary when the show started...I was just thinking that this is As Good As It Gets! We took the light rail to the show and just had a girls day with Kelly and Caroline. Haley's excitement bubbled out of her eyes and smile! She waved to all the princesses and was in a trance when the show began. Lord, please let me enjoy these times with my kids and soak in all their Joy!

Waiting for the train (a fun activity all by itself)

The show about to begin

Seriously, this is what we came for...Princesses!!!

The end of our journey...

Not-So-Mad Scientist

Haley is obsessed with volcanos right now. Every craft or picture that comes home from school is a somehow, in an artsy kinda way, related to a volcano. We've checked out books about volcanos and practiced some science projects at home. Here is our mentos and diet coke project:

And here is the old baking soda and vinegar project:

It makes me laugh to see how excited she is over this subject, but I am so happy that she loves to learn! This girl loves math and science, much like Scott and I. Thank goodness, because I can't help at all when it comes to history or language arts.

This one's for the girls

This year I have Friday mornings set aside for just Haley and I to hang out. I have promised myself to adhere to these rules....no errands, no exercise, no talking on the phone. I am excited to see where Miss H takes us. For the first week, we went to dunkin donuts, bought her new pink sparkle shoes, the park and the library! Admittedly, I am totally probing her for a mommy/daughter pedicure, but this day was all about the donuts so I had to comply...give, give, give!

Enjoy the yumminess...
