Independence Day...

Isn't everyday "independence day" for a 3 year old? This year, we celebrated July 4th at the beach. They have a parade and lots of games/fun for kids all day. Haley liked the golf-cart-parade-turned-water-gun-fight the most!

Haley and Charlie loved spending time with their cousin, sweet Caroline. Charlie did so great at the beach...he did not eat sand! You moms know this is a huge accomplishment for a 1 year old and blessing for a mom! Hopefully the trend will continue when we go back in August! Here are some pics from the week.

We even went to see real alligators and snakes at the Hobcaw Barony Museum. Haley got to touch a real gator...but this is a pic of her really interested in the skeleton of a gator jaw!

The sun has been getting to me

I am soooo far behind on posting photos...the hot summer days are so draining that I am too tired to update our blog! Funny, because I still have time to check everyone else's website, ha ha!

Ok, so if we back up to the first of July, that is when Charlie really began walking. Here is a video that shows how proud he was when he finally figured it out! OMGness, is there anything cuter than a baby learning to walk?

Busted!

A couple of days ago, I decided that I would check out this shoe sale because I was feeling particularly sick of my shoes! Anyway, after finding the perfect pair, I then found an even more perfect pair...but not in my size. The salesman kindly checked other stores and found my size! Yay, they are shipping it to my house this week!

Fast forward...to this morning. I am wearing the new pair (pair #1) and I asked Scott what he thought about them. He kinda gave me a hard time for buying new shoes b/c we (meaning "me") have been spending more than we should lately. Anyway, he said I could keep them because he liked them but to keep out of the stores for a while...

Haley then spoke up and asked why I was not wearing the yellow shoes (pair #2)? Scott gave me a disappointed look because he already knew what was going on...

First Steps...

Charlie is trying to walk more and more...he has lots of battle wounds to prove it too! Here a little snipit of him giving it a try!

"Just Say No" to Peanuts and Eggs

We found out the hard way that Charlie is allergic to Peanuts, so we went to the allergist this week to test for other things. Charlie is also allergic to eggs, so now I am learning how to change his diet and keep him safe from these allergic reactions.

Here are some photos from the skin test yesterday. If you look close in the picture of Charlie's back, the top right shows a D, representing dairy. The numbers 2 and 3 swelled up which indicated that he is allergic to egg yolk and egg white. Haley came along to support her brother and keep him occupied while we waited for the results of his test. We will find out more in a week from the blood test.

Charlotte Swim Academy Grad!

Haley just finished her swim class for the past three weeks! She has learned alot and loves her teacher, Miss Nikki. Take a look at the video to see what she has learned!

June Trip to Raleigh

We made it up to Raleigh for a long overdue trip to visit Mimi and G-daddy. Charlie and Haley absolutely loved spending time at the pool and especially loved playing with Jake and Cole. We were sad that Riley and Dane were not there, but our August beach trip is coming up soon!

While we were there, Haley dressed Charlie up in Mimi's dress-ups. He did not seem to mind, but I do think Scott was bothered. Charlie also got to pound on the pinono (as we like to call it)!

We also got to hang out with our good friends, Matt and Misty. We had a great Mexican dinner in downtown Raleigh and I got to indulge in Goodberrys for the first time.
