Go Panthers

The Panther's season is off to a good start...not that I have time to actually watch a game, but I usually see the last 5 mins or so! Charlie is content to watch football with his daddy on the couch...definitely taking after Scott! He is the complete opposite of Haley because that girl simply does not sit still. Here is Charlie on game day...

Typical Weekend For The Cannady Fam

Me/Scott: "Haley, what should we do today?"
Haley: "Um...how about the light rail?"
Me/Scott: "We did that last weekend, lets do something else."
Haley: "Lets go ride the light rail and have lunch at brixx...lets do the light rail...please...can we, can we, can we...please?"
So, here are some pics from several light rail trips...can you tell Haley is slightly obsessed with trains? I love the sheer excitement when I just ask to see her and her cousin Caroline's tickets! I also love how we have to sit a the front of the train so she can watch the driver and see where we are going. Lastly, I love how she knows every stop and can tell me where we need to get on or get off the train! Good thing, cause this mama is exhausted by time we even get on board!

Blowing Rock Park

The Blowing Rock Park is where we spend most of our time when we go to the mountains...it is truly a great park. We happened to show up on a day where the hospital was hosting an event to promote families getting active. They had a sack race and a hula hoop tournament and tons of fun games...here are some highlights from the park.

What Grows in a Garden?

Went on a run recently...which is really difficult nowadays since I have to push 55 lbs and have a 3 year old that wants to talk the entire time! She asks me what street we are on and then how to spell it while I pant and almost keel over from trying to keep up my pace. Today our conversation turned to the garden...what?

Haley: "Mom, I like that garden"

Me: "yeah...its nice" (... = panting)

Haley: "We should get a garden"

Me: "We kinda....have one...it...just has different...plants"

Haley: "Maybe we can plant new ones"

Me: "Ok...like what"

Haley: "Maybe some things like marshmallows"

First Day of School

I feel like I blinked and now Charlie is going to preschool...

Haley was so proud to show Charlie the ropes and they both entered their classrooms without a tear! What a great day!!!

God is so good to have blessed me with these precious children...

2008 Cannady Family Vacation

We just got back from a great trip to Ocean Isle with the whole Cannady family, all 14 of us!!!

It was tons of fun, here are some highlights and things I learned this week:

1. Charlie loves Balls...I mean, how do boys know that they are supposed to like balls so much??? In fact, I think the only word he says regularly is "ball".

2. Never set high expectations when attempting to take a picture of 6 kids on the beach.

3. When you want some peace and quiet, ask Mimi and G-daddy to take all the kids on a golf cart ride!

4. If you want to catch a lizard, just throw whatever object the lizard is on in the pool, even if the object is a lounge chair!

5. Always lock the outside shower door if you are in the buff!!!

Independence Day...

Isn't everyday "independence day" for a 3 year old? This year, we celebrated July 4th at the beach. They have a parade and lots of games/fun for kids all day. Haley liked the golf-cart-parade-turned-water-gun-fight the most!

Haley and Charlie loved spending time with their cousin, sweet Caroline. Charlie did so great at the beach...he did not eat sand! You moms know this is a huge accomplishment for a 1 year old and blessing for a mom! Hopefully the trend will continue when we go back in August! Here are some pics from the week.

We even went to see real alligators and snakes at the Hobcaw Barony Museum. Haley got to touch a real gator...but this is a pic of her really interested in the skeleton of a gator jaw!
